This is hands down one of the best romance anime that's out there. For me, it deserves a 10 not only because of an amazing story but because it focuses on a person's first (middle- school ish) relationship. The way they portray it is ridiculously accurate, from embarrassing cringe moments to beautiful innocent ones. I love that this anime focuses on a more wholesome relationship rather than ones that take place in a high school or a fantasy setting.
ART and ANIMATION 6/10:
The weakest part of this anime is definitely the animation (they were definitely on a budget). There's quite a bit of artifacts in some scenes, and the CGI they use on "extras" or background people is glaringly obvious. I liked the art style itself because it was very unique, but I think many people think it's too jarring.
SOUND/ MUSIC 10/10:
This is probably where a decent amount of their budget probably went (and I'm glad they did it). They used at least 5 songs from Nao Toyama (singer) at various parts during the story, and they were amazing. The instrumental soundtracks were solid as well, but having a good songs with lyrics that matched the plot/ genre really made a huge impact.
CHARACTERS 9/10:
The 2 main characters were written beautifully. Some people might say they were a little generic or don't have enough "uniqueness" but I think the story focuses more on their relationship and how they build off one another, rather than just developing who they are individually. The side characters are very supportive or are sources of conflict, and their main purpose was to enhance the development of the 2 main characters. However, there are cute little scenes at the end of most episodes that gives development to the side characters.
ENJOYMENT 10/10:
I love this anime. It's so wholesome and just makes you feel so fuzzy and warm inside. Conflicts are resolved reasonably quick (no dragging out) and the romance flows very well. If you're on the fence about watching it, please do it.
