First off, some notes:

* Does feature actual sex, detailed, several times
* Is not a porn/hentai, ecchi, or cheesy fanservice-based anime at all
* Does feature incest

Not your average "harem" anime. Quite the opposite - this is a genuine love story.

Not only is it a dramatic, genuine and romantic anime that, despite its tropes of multiple women loving the main character, avoid unnecessary fanservice-based narratives quite well - but it also, despite many of the characters being pretty "typical", manages to involve these characters in ways where they not only show color, but develop strongly as characters.

I find it displeasing when animes feature "fanservice" by simply creating awkward tease-like situations and try to build a story around it. You can have 20 women marvelling over the main character, yet nothing sexual, not even a kiss, is allowed to occur naturally.

In contrast, this anime is a fresh breath of air and actually *does* bring characters through the *entire* process. Sex happens. Detailed, too. But not in a cheap or pornographic focus.

All in all, the anime carries you from start to finish without any major hiccups. And you could argue that many of the possible "flaws" are really just a choice of design and direction, as well as the desire to stay true to the nature of anime and not turn this into something it shouldn't be.

I do miss some "more" content. I do miss some variation, some more action/excitement, some more indebth personal moments that don't jumpcut ahead, and distractions and travels that add to the feeling of the anime without having to be solely centered on the main characters. All in all, there could be more "stuff going on".

** Slightly spoiler-like facts**

This anime sure acts as a very laid-out adventure, and does not leave you empty or upset at what it tries to do. It leaves you with something that most anime simply don't fease; the denied and overlooked possibility of combining a conclusive-enough ending, with the excitement and curiosity for the future.

All in all, not only was the story believable and exciting enough, but the ending was just outright good, in a way that makes you go "Finally! An ending that isn't stupid."

Could I improve the ending? Yes. But it depends on whether I *want* to go in that direction. And thus, is it really a needed improvement, or simply just a roadblock for a possible future that could be differently interesting in a followup season? Who knows..

As of my 2017 edit of this review, this is one of my highest rated anime.

If you're wondering what to watch next, but might like a juicy anime with honest and fulfilling romance, and perhaps a little bit of taboo, this might be for you.
