What can be said about this series that probably hasn't already been said. This series always holds a special place in my heart. Before, I had pretty much only watched anime movies. After, it got me hooked to anime series. Overall, when tied in the with 2nd Gig series, Ghost in the shell has to be considered one of the number 1 anime series out there, if not, the number 1. It has everything you could want with a series. Great action scenes, an excellent team of characters & an intelligent storyline. GITS has a knack like no other series for interesting, realistic, political conspiracies and unlike other series, there's never a dull moment. The whole idea of the Laughing Man and the standalone complex has reached a cult status with me, along with that of the 2nd Gig's Kuze & The individual eleven. The music for GITS is also memorable. It's hard to find fault with a series like this, for me, it was my first and therefore will always remain one of my best. I am reluctant to give anything a 10 because nothing is perfect but GITS does come close.
