I came here for the lulz, and I got what I expected... for the most part.

The art is fine. Sometimes the characters look kinda silly and cheap, but there are also occasions where they look extremely expressive and hilarious. The characters themselves have some priceless reactions, and you can really see it in their faces and bodies. The backgrounds and other art are fine.

The sound is good. I enjoyed the opening and ending sounds, and the ambient music does its job. The voice acting is top-notch and is a step above when it comes to the level of expression.

The story is cliche, but that's the intention. Guy is thrown into a high fantasy world with magic, monsters, and adventurers. There is a twist that our main character finds himself in that makes his experience a liiiitle difficult though, which is the main premise of the whole show. This anime is a parody first and foremost, and it does a good job of it.

I really enjoyed the four main characters. Each has a distinct personality, and they synergize "well" together to make some laughs. Straight man Kazuma endures it all and provides us with a relatable character. Like real people, each of the characters have flaws, they're just more pronounced in Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness. Which is played for the lulz, indeed.

I had heard many things about Konosuba being hilarious. It has its moments, true, but there are some stretches where nary a laugh is to be had. The main plot itself isn't funny, and when it is being explained, it seems like a stark contrast to the humorous mood that I expected from Konosuba. That being said, the 30% of the time where it IS funny, it is HILARIOUS.

Overall, the characters make the show (once they're all introduced and finally working together). An interesting premise starring some great characters gives Konosuba a rating of 7.
