I went into this one with zero expectations knowing nothing about it. I was totally goddamned blown away. I absolutely loved the strange murky setting, the enigmatic and multifaceted characters, the design work, the music. It's wonderful, go watch it now.

It's rare for any media to really get to me emotionally, but certain scenes across the final two episodes hit me like a sledgehammer to the soul, and I'm not ashamed to say that there were tears streaming down my face by the finale.

Death Parade is also one of the few 12 episode runs I’ve watched that didn’t feel like it was too short. The experience of watching was special enough that I don’t think I actually want to see more, as I’m happy with the resolution for the characters we spent time on, and I think revisiting them or clarifying too much of the setting might cheapen that to some extent.

It's not perfect, (there's a bit of a lurch in tone on episode six that I didn't think quite worked for example) but it's close enough to it that I can't give this anything other than a ten.
