Our memories, happy or sad ones, is one thing that we should always cherish. It's the reminder of our past and the foundation of what we are today, our precious memory is something that can't be stolen from us.
Sadly, Kaori Fujimiya's case is different.

Kaori is always alone, not that she wants that though. Hase notices that and befriends her, but Kaori rejected him. But Hase really wants to be Kaori's friend, he tried his very best to be close to her. In just one week time, Hase founds out that Kaori isn't as cold as everyone thinks she is, he also found out that she loses all her "good" memories (with her family to the exception) every Monday, the reason she's afraid of having friends. Despite learning this, Hase endeavors to become her new friend every week.

Just from reading the story plot, anyone would easily know that this anime is full of feels and sad emotions. Just put yourselves is Kaori's shoes, imagine how hard she has to go through, I mean, losing your memory and not to mention every week, is something that anyone can't take nor live through. Despite the sad concept, it will somehow give a feeling of warmth to the watchers. The first episode of Isshuukan Friends already manage to set up the mood it needed. The art isn't really beautiful but it gives the ambiance of lightness and warmth that is appropriate for the plot. The VA did a good job characterizing the characters. We'll just be swayed to the vista of the story.
This is pretty enjoying, if you have an eye for slow pace romance that mostly takes place in school and have a genre of comedy, drama and slice of life to complete the package, then this is worth giving a try.
