Ah Shokugeki, probably my favorite ecchi series of all time. Mainly because the fanservice is done in a comedic way that actually adds to my enjoyment rather than detract. Unfortunately the sequel disappointed me quite a bit. The sound and art are still top notch but the characters and story fell apart for me in this season. Ni no Sara takes place right after season 1, meaning we get kicked right into the tournament arc. Sadly the tournament arc which is the biggest part of the series is so bland. There's none of the cutthroat tension from the previous season. There aren't any students getting kicked out or even any cool preperation arcs. These things are what made Shokugeki entertaining for me in the first place. There's only so many times that the eye-opening, orgasmic "This food is excellent!" reaction can stay entertaining before it gets boring. It's also not nearly as funny as season 1. Thankfully the show REALLY picks up in the last 3 episodes. It's because of them that I chose to give this season a 7 instead of a 5 or a 6. The tension comes back, Soma's creativity comes into play and there's a lot of charatcer development to be had as well. It's ironic that the last 3 episodes which could be considered filler were the most entertaining. So should you watch Shokugeki Season 2? If you liked season 1 then yes but don't expect the same kind of quality the first season had. If you didn't like season 1 you will HATE this series. Hope this review helped a little :)
