The only area where it could have delivered a bit more was in the sci-fi aspect. As for romantic and drama aspects, it certainly delivered for me. This show had me crying so much towards the end that my nose got stuffy and I had trouble breathing properly.
Just don't expect anything grandiose going into the show, and you'll be able to appreciate this gem of a show for what it is.
The story was simple. Don't expect anything over-the-top mind-blowing. What I appreciate about the story is how relate-able it is despite the sci-fi setting.
It poses the question to the viewer: what would you do if you were aware of how limited your life span really is?
The typical answer would be "to live your life to the fullest". But "living your life to the fullest" may not always mean the same thing for everyone. For some people, it could mean doing the grandest things. Dedicating the rest of your life to a singular goal. Making great dreams come true. But there is also something to be said for simply carrying on with your life as usual, appreciating the everyday, mundane things that often times we just take for granted. Living your life in quiet dignity, with great appreciation for the simplest of things.
