To be honest, at first I didn't think much of the series after watching only 5 episodes of it. Now this is by far, the best sports anime I've watched (excluding Free! and Kuroko no Baskue who are also great sports anime). The story centers around Hinata who gains a sudden love of volleyball after seeing a national championship match on TV featuring one of the "Little Giant". He makes a team in middle school but is beaten by the championship favorite team, and on that team is the "King of the court" Tobio Kageyama. Hinata vows to eventually surpass Kageyama and defeat him. Come to find out, the same person he vowed to surpass becomes one of his teammates.

Overall this anime has a lot of great character development, funny moments, thrilling volleyball matches and a great plot line. I am happy that it has gotten 3 seasons and I hope that season 3 will be as good as the other 2 seasons before it.
