Well, at least they tried.

tl;dr: Fatuous. Hackneyed. Enjoyable.

I can't complain much - I am just more demanding than most anime fans, and I accept it.
The targetted audience would be - I'd say - 13-15 year olds, which would explain why the story, characters, and pretty much everything about the series is cliche, extremely stupid, and just plain annoying. If I'd get one cent for every time I had to roll my eyes, I'd be a millionaire.

1. Story.
I feel like they're not even trying to be original anymore. The story tries to shock the viewer with its incredible *wink* unpredictability *wink*. Its shocking gore moments where the author is killing EVERYONE in the most brutal way in an attempt to leave us in disbelief are unfortunately easily predictable and quite annoying. The story itself is rather easy to predict.

2. Characters.
Oh, right. We are served with yet another idiotic protagonist, who is, of course, a very good, simple, unoriginal person. He screams loudly to express his emotions and reminds me of EVERY SINGLE SHOUNEN PROTAGONIST EVER. Slowly builds himself a harem which contains many hot anime chicks, just so little weeaboo fans would fall in love with them and buy those waifu pillows. At least I think that's how the marketing works in the weeaboo world. Overall poor, very poor work.

3. Enjoyment.
Not sure why, but I have enjoyed watching some parts of the show. I would not rewatch it, ever, but overall it was fairly enjoyable. I'd guess that the reason for that would be the place where the plot was developing. I think I enjoyed being thrown into a fantasy world for a change since I haven't watched any anime of this kind in a long time. As poorly, as the plot and characters were made, I must admit that I had enjoyed certain parts of the show, but at the same time, I could barely get through most of the episodes without rolling my eyes, pausing the video, or even dropping it halfway.

To sum things up: I did enjoy some parts of the show, but for the most parts I hated and despised it. As long as you're not looking for an original plot, an ambitious storyline and deeply developed characters, you might be in for a ride. Otherwise, I think the show is fatuous and a waste of time.
