Hajimete no Aku is a romantic comedy about what goes behind the scenes for 'so called villains' fitting into a society they are trying to take over.
As per what the synopsis has already mentioned, HnA is about Kyoko and how she educates diabolical villain and inventor, Jiro to modern society(eg. school). Along the way she gets to know more about Jiro and his family's 'evil' organization, and Jiro learns more about his new found emotions(whilst trying to scout Kyoko to be his underling).
The concept of 'heroes/villains are humans too' is what lead me to keep reading this manga as we're only shown one half of any tale and most likely from the heroes side, so having to hear it from the villains side can be refreshing in itself. There's a running gag throughout its chapter on how not judge a book by its cover, and like and iceberg, there's more to someone then what you see on top.
There is plenty of character development in HnA, as you discover what villains and superheroes do when they're not out for each others throats. Amusement is plenty when you find out how normal, villains and heroes alike can be.
Artwork is not the best by manga standards but if you can get past that and not judge a book by its cover or illustrations, then I can safely guarantee that Hajimete no Aku is a worthwhile read.
