Mixed Feelings
I just finished Eureka Seven after going through a very stressful period, my grandmother had a heart attack. I had a lot of issues with the anime but I was able to get over them by increasing my usual level of suspension of disbelief. Overall I don't think Eureka Seven was very good from a story telling stand point as I found it difficult to immerse myself in the universe that was created. That being said my issues were a lot of small things that built up over time rather than large issues that ruined my enjoyment of the anime.

The best way I can describe Eureka Seven without spoilers would be to say it is very similar to a traditional fairy tail, you know how it will end up fairly early on but that doesn't actually detract from the story. I find that fairy tales generally have weak stories but tend to be able to make you smile and feel good after watching or reading. Eureka Seven does this fairly well, while some things don't make a great deal of sense the characters develop pretty well and if you are watching without taking it too seriously you can leave this anime with a good feeling and the satisfaction of having seen it.

I would not say that this is an anime that merits a lot of discussion but it is certainly worth a watch if you have time and are feeling down. There is a good mix of action to keep your attention and character interaction to get you to care about the characters and it was done in a way that didn't seem forced.

TL:DR
If you are willing to go in with an open mind and not nit pick the small things this is a pretty enjoyable anime, but if you are going to try to take it apart and analyze it there are better alternatives. It has the "feels" and action.
