RE:ZERO KARA HAJIMERU ISEKAI SEIKATSU

On reading the synopsis, the first thing that came to mind was konosuba's semi-lighthearted RPG setting. I couldn't have been more wrong. Re zero tells the story of a young man transported from his uneventful world to a medieval time where despite his powerlessness and helplessness he strives to prove himself worthy of receiving the love of his life's affection. Armed with only the ability to "continue from a saved point" whenever he dies (returns by dead), he faces his new world.

The art quality and sound tracks were awesome. The opening and ending songs were in perfect harmony with this anime's theme. "Paradisus-Paradoxum" by MYTH & ROID was in my view a perfect prototype of how OP theme songs should relate with their stories. Alongside stunning visuals and concepts, the music was almost hypnotic.

The story-line was good but character development was impeccable. Our main character although brash and indecisive was portrayed as definitely human. He showed that in hard times we can be crushed under the weight of our burdens but not without also showing how possible it is to rise to the occasion. The supporting characters were also well colored characters which each having a personality that made them unique and add to plot.

In conclusion, REZERO might mess with your psyche a bit, but it is definitely worth watching. Hopefully there would be a second season.
