I don't know where to start but this anime is one of those type of shows that make you think its good at one point but then you start to dislike it at other points. The story starts off with Natsuki Subaru, a shut in who gets transported to an RPG like world without knowing why. Yet he takes it much calmer then most would and expects things to be great, but he finds out later on that it’s much more difficult then he thought. Subaru has the ability to "return from death". And whenever something troubling happens that causes him to die, he returns to a "save point" after death, and from then he has to try and solve what happened so that he wont die and the outcome will be good. Some may say this can be repetitive, but when you watch it something about this brings you in and excites you, trying to find out why he died or thinking about the whole process of this happening makes this more exhilarating when watching it, you are not watching the same scenes over and over but you are watching the outcome of his last death and the thoughts on what he will do to avoid it or figure out a way to change the events that will take place avoiding his death and others around him and this gives the story such a great appeal to you, especially when the episode ends on a cliffhanger. The first episode is 48 minutes long, half of it I thought that what I am watching is not anything special; but the second half made me completely change my mind and I’m sure it will to you too.

Soon after the episodes seem to get better and better but there is one problem; it did not keep up this atmosphere all the time. Not that a series should be expected to have a great episode every time, but one episode for example could really impact you, and the next could seem like you are watching a plain fantasy like series. Only certain times are you intrigued by the series, it could be one episode that’s great and then the next that feels like the anime has dropped to a certain degree, which bores you as to why is this not as great as the last.

The characters are one thing that also intrigued me but at the same time some things about certain characters were troubling. Natsuki Subaru, the lead protagonist is a bright and positive character, he has a strong mind and will and after dying several times he does change, sometimes you may realize his mental state isn’t that well after what has happened and this leads to good development for his character as he is changing himself to change his future. Emilia, the half elf who is Subaru’s main love interest actually doesn’t get as much development in these 25 episodes, she is seen as a kind hearted girl who wants to help everyone and that doesn’t change too much from the start to end as she does not appear in the middle chunk of the series. Emilia is still a kind hearted person, in fact maybe too kind from start to end and this can slightly bother you as being too kind isn’t much of a likeable trait when dealing with certain situations although at the end she does get a little deeper development when thinking about how others treat her and how Subaru thinks about her which you can find out for yourself. Rem and Ram, the twin maids get in fact more development then Emilia, mainly speaking about Rem, who is a very popular character for certain reasons. Rem seems to be very plain at the beginning like she doesn’t have emotions but later on she gets lots of attention to her character which make me instantly fall in love with everything about her, though I don’t want to spoil anything but I am sure you will love this character as much as I do.

The music in this series is great, it has amazing openings and endings and the sound track has some really beautiful songs that make a normal scene much more touching and emotional. The art is not something that stands out too much, but there are many parts where you look at it and realize how great it actually looks, these two things together make beautiful and action packed scenes look and feel amazing.

Overall I am giving this anime an 8.4, it was one of the most amazing series I have seen in a while but certain things like how it may not be as fun to watch at some points and how certain characters play out in the series lowered it from a 9 to an 8. But with saying that I defiantly recommend this series to anyone who wants something different that will make them excited to see what the outcome may be in a certain situation, its defiantly a great series to take your time into watching.
