God Eater is based on a video game of the same name but after watching the anime, I don't think I'll try out the game. Not saying it was bad, everything was just too mediocre and safe (asides for the characters because they got their butts kicked).

Style:
From the start you notice that the animation is different but it's hard to put your finger on it. It seems kinda cheap but as time moves on it gets more enjoyable, that's a factor that I actually enjoyed from God Eater. It goes a bit hard on glitch effects at first but calms down after the first few episoodes.

Story:
Looking at the story though, that was kind of a crap show. I usually try to go in with an open mind, I'd take any premise the anime offers and run with it as long as it can maintain it's own logic but God Eater has so many problems everywhere, nothing humongous, just a lot of small ones that I couldn't ignore and ruined the show for me. Overall it's a solid anime but if you start to look at it closer then it falls apart. Like how the main character isn't told how to use his state of the art weapon for no reason or how he passes out from an electric shock but later on gets stabbed and falls down from a cliff and actually get's better from those things.

NOTHING surprising really happens in the anime. It plays way too safe with a story that we have already seen done better in Attack on Titan and it doesn't even advance it's own plot with the 13 episodes it offers.

You can check out my full review on my YouTube channel at MudanTV and ALSO I made a video that states everything that is wrong with God Eater anime a la Cinemasins style (It's not to be taken too seriously though).
