"When I grow up, I want to live on an island away from everyone// When I think of the town without me, I feel free".
This series spurs the viewer to plunge into a deep journey within themselves and the consequential analysis of the cyclicality of life.
It's a short adventure, with a rollercoaster-ish kick to it; a very good ratio between breath-taking cliffhangers and tension-free moments that'll leave you surprisingly pleased as the last minutes of the show will slowly but relentlessly roll by.
The plot is remarkable, the art and sound fx are widely enjoyable, the majority of the characters is incredibly lovable and easy to relate to, stripping the viewer from its initial shell of mistrust towards the show and unleashing its empathic side.
Although their amiable facade, some of the characters lack that significant depth and girth, resulting a little weak and empty, shifting from an episode to another.
That being said, "Erased - The town where only I am missing" ended up being one of the most amusing and entertaining pieces of japanese art I've happened to come across in the last years.
What a delightful surprise.
