Bleach is my favorite shonen and has a special place in my heart but if you can't stand shonen this isn't gonna be the exception for you. If you are into these type of really long shows and are thinking of getting into one first off I would just recommend looking up the list of fillers for this show because none of them are worth anything and take up a decent portion of the show. The first 20 episodes are so are completely different from the rest of the show and are just simple monster hunting however they set up the characters so I don't know if I would say skip them they're kinda interesting. I love the character designs of Bleach and the fights. Ichigo, the main character is sort of a punk and alot of the other characters also feel that way which I like instead of the generic quiet good anime protagonists but they're not obnoxious like Naruto or Luffy can be either. The first big arc is fantastic for shonen and afterwards it's not AS great, but you'll probably be invested enough in the characters to continue. There are just some kick ass moments in Bleach that I just love man. Not for everyone for sure.
