Preliminary (38/47 eps)
**So Pokemon XY&Z takes place immediately after Pokemon XY. So if you haven't seen Pokemon XY and The Mega Evolution Specials. I would strongly suggest you do so before watching Pokemon XY&Z**

I've only seen up to episode 38 at time of review also I've been watching Subbed

Lets start off with Story (I will do my best to stay spoiler free):

Story wise it's pretty good after you get past the point that you'll have to realize its a "Kids Show" by now. You should have been at least 94 episodes in If you took the advice of watching XY first or 98 episodes in if you watched the Mega Evolution Specials. But even with the knowledge that it's a kids show it's enjoyable for young and old a like.

Why I enjoyed the story:

I've always been a big fan of the Pokemon anime even during it's darker times. But with that being said Pokemon XY&Z has been my favorite season thus far. The story is rich and unpredictable enough that I'm engaged in the anime. Pacing wise I think that the story is well paced getting slow when it needs to yet maintains a steady enough pace to not lose my focus. Although the story is not as emotion heavy as Pokemon XY was it will still keep you attached. I would like to point out most of my favorite Pokemon episodes happen to occur in Pokemon XY&Z.

Art Style:

The Art Style remains the same from Pokemon XY so the same smooth battle animations are there. Along with the detailed expressions and emotions of the characters with some of these episodes being some of the nicest looking anime episodes I've seen but at the same time some episodes don't look that great and flashy.

Sound:

The soundtrack never seems to stop impressing me. Often choices of the orchestral pieces are perfectly fitting for the scenario with many of them coming from the Pokemon games new and past (although I find mostly Pokemon Black and White).

Character:

So many characters return from Pokemon XY, some new additions (Although kind of predictable) from The Mega Evolution Special, Team Flare and "Punichan" (Squishy if your watching Dubbed). With the same cast from before it's hard to say much but there is a big mystery surrounding "Punichan" just as a heads up along with a equally mysterious Gekkouga (Greninja)

Overall:

I think it's hard not to like this anime it's got a lot going for it and I hope it keeps on going on the hype train till the end.

By the way this has been my first review I hope you enjoyed
