So, I'm not gonna lie. This show for me is an overall 9 to be quite honest, but I really don't agree with certain aspects of it despite the high score I give it overall. Why is it this way? Let me summarize.

This show is beautiful, I watched it in full hd and was astounded by the amount of actual detail put into some of the frames in this show. The times where a city landscape covers the background were some of the best I've seen in anime personally. Art is a 10.

Sound in this show was really good overall, I liked both the OP and the ED and (although sometimes cut straight to in the show) both were pretty well timed. The soundtrack for the show is not too terribly memorable, you'll hear similar things the whole way through but the way the creators arranged it worked well for me personally. Sound is an 8.

Character for me was really enjoyable. Even given the small amount of time that this show actually populated it did pretty good at making the characters memorable who could've been perfect 10s if given just a bit more time to be expanded upon. The whole way through with all of the new characters being introduced you could see true colors of the main characters coming through with the exception of your friendly neighborhood tsundere who waited till the very end. The interactions between characters also worked well toward their development. Character is a 9.

My enjoyment for this anime was an 8, and part of that has to do with the story but I couldn't let that bring me down. I genuinely loved waiting on the next thing to happen in this series, it kept me well preoccupied with mini situations that the characters experienced so that I could wait for the next big thing in the show. To be quite honest, too, I'm really depressed that it ended so early. At only 13 episodes there is not nearly enough room for me to derive my maximum enjoyment from this show. Enjoyment is an 8.

This brings me to the thing that I really didn't like about the show, the story. Let me elaborate, this show was decent at laying down tracks for the story train to follow but towards the end it's as if the people laying them became complacent and decided to leave giant gaps between rails for the train to just bump along. This show is like endless pancakes when it comes to story, in the beginning I was feeling like I'd be well satisfied with my big fluffy pancakes coming out one after the other but near the end the pancakes became so thin I could find paper that was thicker. All in all, this show does story terribly. Shoving content into episodes and removing developmental content that gives viewers an overall better connection to the characters they're watching about is where this anime ultimately falls short. I couldn't feel anything for them in the end no matter how bad I actually wanted to because there just wasn't enough time for the content to develop. 0 to 100 real quick but we're gonna wait about 9 episodes before we decide to do that. New characters were introduced so rapidly that their lives meant jack to me and old ones changed so quickly I'm not even sure I was watching Charlotte in the end. All in all, it needs work. Jun Maeda needs to let go of this 13 episode bullshit, he leaves far too much to be desired when he doesn't have the time to convey his message. Story is a 5.

Overall I rated for what this anime could've been, a decent high schoolers with super powers anime that moved me deeply through it's amazing visuals, well timed soundtrack, lovable characters, and sufficiently long but also short enough story. I give it a 9, I wouldn't watch it again unless they fixed it first but I did enjoy my time with it the first time.
