You know...

This anime has a lot of problems,

It has plot holes,

It doesn't expand on all its huge cast of characters,

but none the less... you can't help but just love this anime...

This anime, especially nowadays, is such a gem. In this current anime era where every character, story, and subtle story elements are recycled. Where each anime just becomes monotonous, this anime just becomes such a gem.

When I first watched this anime, I did not appreciate it as much since that was my "Golden Era" anime moment. Every anime I watched was fantastically amazing, and compared to those, angel beats was simply "good/great." But compared to the current anime, and just even as a standalone story, it's such a joy.

You will see things in this anime that you will not find in other animes. The story STARTS with its opening, a subtle detail yet it makes such an impact when every anime nowadays starts with some content then the opening. But who knows, maybe that's just me.

As the opening is playing, you notice these little details in it that will just string you out. Angel Beats manages to expose you and make you vulnerable emotionally. It's not like Clannad, where it simply beats your heart to the ground, it more likes takes off your metaphorical clothing. Maybe this is simply from the perspective of someone who has already seen this show and is watching it for the 2nd time, but if you're someone who is tired of the monotonous and recycled styles that are being used in these current animes. Then please watch this show, you will adore it.
