Berserk was the first anime series that I ever saw, and it will always hold a special place in my heart as one of my favorite series of all time. I was hooked right from the beginning, though to me the series starts on episode 2 as episode 1 really has nothing to do with the rest of the series. I'm a big fan of badassery and seeing anything badass gives me chills. That being said, the main character Guts is the living embodiment of badassery. The stories revolves around Guts as he is forced to join Griffith's Band of the Hawk. Griffith is a man with one dream and one goal in life and that is to be king and NOTHING will stand in his way of achieving that goal. The series is full of intense battles and bloodshed as the Band of the Hawk fights battle after battle in pursuit of Griffith's dream. As the series continues, Guts changes from a bloodthirsty mercenary into a man who desperately wants to be seen as Griffith's equal and friend. The story is very exhilarating, the action is amazing, the music my favorite to listen to, and the series itself is just as entertaining as they come. I've seen Berserk all the way through on 5 separate occasions and have enjoyed every bit of it every single time. I don't normally read manga but after watching this series, I knew I had to. The series is definitely worth watching, it's one of my favorite of all time and it's a very underrated anime.
