Whisper of the Heart is a chick flick, in layman's terms.
It's a sweet, cute, heart-warming movie about Shizuku Tsukishima, an average girl living in the city. She's straying from her studies to get into a good high school, and spends all her time reading.
Seiji Amasawa is just the perfect gentleman, after you get past his sarcastic nature at the beginning.

I just love this movie so much. It's perfect to watch on a rainy afternoon. It's adorable, even with the abrupt ending. It leaves you smiling and tapping your foot to the ending song.

Miyazaki must have had an infatuation with the song Country Roads when he was writing the screenplay, as it shows up all the time.

I give this movie an A.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm about to go pop it in the DVD player.
