If you like anime in a western setting and love random things, then this anime might just be what you're looking for.

At first, I only watched this anime because a girl seated beside me on the train was watching it. So I thought, why not give it a shot? And I'm glad I did, because this series offered something so unique from other series.

The plot is rather complicated, in a good way. It's because it doesn't follow a straight line, unlike most shows. And so it's difficult to understand what's happening simply by watching it once. But one thing's for sure: Your brain will have a hard time catching up to whatever's happening!

Another thing I liked are the characters. What I like about them is that they all stand out in their own way. It's not always about the MC. Each character has their own spotlight, and they're remembered by how they are shown while in that spotlight.

Although the plot was confusing, this anime certainly had artistic value. Meaning you can watch it and simply enjoy the visuals it presents, even if you don't understand what's happening. Kudos for the creators for emphasizing this element.

Lastly, the soundtrack was epic. The ending theme reminded me of Baccano. It fit the mood of the whole series without standing out too much.

In short, it was a roller coaster of headaches that I oddly enjoyed. I'd recommend this for those who prefer a rather complicated plot mixed with dazzling graphics. One can only imagine what goes on in the world of Blood Blockade Battlefront!
