Never imagined in Izumi Shinichi's thoughts, that his normal life as high-schooler will turned into dramatically several horrible life events after a parasyte successfully entered into his body and took over his right hand. Couldn't reach Shinichi's brain to take fully control, the parasyte wisely and poorly decided to live its life side by side with Shinichi. The parasyte grows numerous in society, it's regrettable that the only way they can save their lives is to eat humans. They are so tiny, and in order to get a body, they take over the control of human brain and become the host, starting the cannibalism (in human perspective). And now... Shinichi have to face the truth that his body is semi-parasyte.

I can say that the character design of this series makes the entire show looks like aired on early 2000s, packaged with the artwork of modern era like nowadays. It gives weird vibes at first but I guarantee it is just as you adapt to the series and later it will be a good series to watch. Nice animation here, the fighting scenes are clear, the parasyte reveal its fang—hardened metal resembles sharp objects-in a rapid movements, massive attacks and fine colouring here. The sensation of village when Shinichi visited some of 'em feels real and calming. It's not just about reckless fighting, the strategy is the core of the victory, key of the survival. Looking at the enemy, the parasyte which have a powerful strength than human, exceed human both from the composition of body (the hardness) and its speed.

The odd creature called parasyte involved here, makes the series is odd itself. Still the story really has its meaning so deep about human and the way they live from the point of view of certain characters here, especially the main hero, Izumi Shinichi, It pulls out the unconsciousness of human and pushes our limit to develop ourselves, brightened us with a wide range of perspectives.
I stopped by 14th eps because of the 'alteration' after Kana's murderer by parasyte. Other two reasons are the story turns into more dramatic so even the dilemmas itself is somewhat boring to bear, like being pushed all the way, also the enemies are from political group is not a mood booster here. Eventhough in the end it was not the political view as the main course for our enjoyment, but the impact was there.
The story is getting its colour back on 18th eps for me. So many surprises, the most unexpected scene was there, involving Tamura Reiko's research of human and more understanding view of parasyte. Really heart-touching that was -sobs- 'Til it is ended, I still have my curiousness "what is parasyte about" and the truth behind all of it. But the story leads us to not thinking about it too much elegantly and focusing on the human race, and humanity on each person. By the troublesome tragedy among the characters, the character development is waving nicely altho' not good enough because I bet it can be more than just this.

I like both theme songs, the OP theme is sung by Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas, "Let Me Hear"is so damn kewl I like the beat and rhythm, there are screams too ewww so dark! On the other hand, the ED theme "IT'S THE RIGHT TIME" by Daichi Miura is soft, not a lullaby but its melody surely assured.

I calculate my rate and it would be 9- for the series! What a good time to watch this one.
Pros
Unexpected story progress
Deep meaning of human and humanity

Cons
It does involve human races but not in a bigger scope than the main hero itself and its circle
It would be more positive or even more enjoyable if the main hero fastly moving on from sad events and has positive thoughts rather than seized his brain with all the unfathomable regret

*) NB, Kana: Kana is a friend of Shinichi who has a 6th sense that often makes her facing other parasyte than the semi-parasyte Shinichi. Shinichi is concerned about her power and told her to not guessing Shinichi's appearance just by it because it will negatively affect her life.
*) NB. Tamura Reiko: A parasyte in female human body. Clever and has its own curiousness towards its own species. Makes various research and observes many things related to parasyte and human. She is infatuated to Shinichi, because he is semi-parasyte.
