I know that Mr Plinkett never say this, but he'll if he will ever review this show.
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (aka The Irregular at Magic High school) is actually one of the most disappointing anime I ever watched. I started to watch the show without any expectation whatsoever, and this show still disappoints me. Almost everything in this anime make no sense whatsoever. Now shall we enter to the review?
Story: 2
One of the biggest problem with this show is the story. The premise of the show is interesting but the execution is a total abomination. Almost nothing happens and basically everything happen in this show is only to make the MC looks awesome. This show has 3 arc and basically these arcs are like: MC-kin involved in some events, boring buildup, then something happens, Tatsuya solves it and everyone around him likes him. In most of the episodes, there'll be some very boring magic explanation nonsense going on. I know they did this to make the audience understand what's happening, but it's so boring that makes the audiences want to sleep. Tatsuya's OPness also make this show boring because he basically can solve anything. When this happen, there's no tension. There's no struggle and conflict because Tatsuya is basically God. He can solve everything.
Art: 6
The art style in this anime is honestly one of the reason I started to watched the show. But as I watching this show, the art is honestly kinda average to me. Sure the characters are beautifully draw, but the problem I have with the art is almost every characters in this show looks almost identical without their eye color and unique(kinda) hairstyle.
Sound: 5
The soundtrack is kinda the another saving grace for the show for me. Some of the songs are good but unfortunately very generic and forgettable since I have heard something similar for over hundred times.
Character: 2
This is definitely the worst part of the show. Almost very characters in this show is boring, forgettable and lack development, even for the main character. The MC, Tatsuya and Miyuki is bland and boring. Tatsuya is basically a one-dimensional Gary Stu without anything remarkable about him. Miyuki is also very annoying with all of the "I love my brother" nonsense going on. Both Tatsuya and Miyuki is boring, stoic and unrelatable. No characters in this show feels like a actual person.
Enjoyment: 2
I didn't enjoy this show. Every time I watching this show, I almost fell asleep and spending my time more on messing around with my Lego sets.

Almost everything is wrong about this show. The premise of this show is interesting, but the execution is so terrible that I presume that even myself can execute the idea of this show better.
This is a boring and terrible show. Find better shows to watch instead of....... this.
