This one didn't deserve most of the hate that it is getting. It may not be mind blowing but it has a LOT of things going for it: cute girls, magic powers/fighting down fairly well, all sorts of mystery and twists and turns, a plot that is paced well, lots of character development, good animation and OST, bad guys you love to hate, characters who turns from good to bad and vice verse, basically is had a ton of tropes but they are generally done well. There are some dropped plot points, and some things that are smoothed over a bit too nicely but that is typical in this genre, it is tough to do so much in a single season.

So here is the problem... the ending is GARBAGE. It literally ends on a cliffhanger, basically mid-sentence. I have seen anime put their eggs in the sequel basket many a time before, but this is just ridiculous. Literally there is 0 resolution, but not only that but there are characters who may be alive or dead, insane plot twists that occur the last 30 seconds that blow your mind, all sorts of pieces to a puzzle that you will NEVER find the answer to. If not for the ending this would be a solid choice but I honestly can't recommend it. You will be left scratching your head and wondering what you did to deserve to have a story you got sucked into literally cut in the worst and most confusing way possible.
