This anime does not deserve the "hate" it is getting. I would not dare say that it is original, that it is superbly extraordinary, that it is anything new, because we all know that this anime looks like Shingeki no Kyojin and even the Walking Dead and most of everything we can watch these days. The story is already known to us all, and hey, maybe most of us have watched something like this. But you know what? The execution of this anime is still great nonetheless. I would not be judging it based on comparison to other animes, because this one, for me, still does its job and what it's supposed to do.

The art is not your generic art style--nothing trying to be "moe" or ecchi. Nothing was sexualized, nothing was made to be cuter than reality is supposed to be. And though I am not a fan of these "classic" art style, I still did love it. It was a serious anime, and it is made to be just that (with a little touch of comedy now and then).

The characters had great and reasonable character developments. I loved Ikoma though he gets a lot of hate. Ikoma was not supposed to be strong, but he is trying to be. And I love how they progress his character not quite quickly, but reasonably for someone who is in his position. Same goes for the other characters. They were all not made to be perfect. There would be times that you would hate some of them, but that is the point. That is what your are supposed to feel. That is what the writers want you to feel. Characters aren't meant to cater to your needs, and not all characters are made to be liked or loved. They are meant to be flawed just like humans, and they also want to show us that you learn that way. I will emphasize yet again: THEY ARE MEANT TO BE THEMSELVES. NOT EVERY CHARACTER NEEDS TO CATER TO YOUR NEEDS. (There were animes that characters don't even have characters--the characters are just there to cater to audiences and character fluctuations are all over the place, and for me, that is too shallow--liking characters that are just that. AND PEOPLE ACTUALLY LIKE THAT?) This anime brings you characters that are reasonable no matter how small that reason is.

I definitely enjoyed this anime. The action is there and it is amazing. And as I've mentioned earlier, though it is not original or anything new, it is not bad. It is still enjoyable, with all the adventure they faced and the trials they had along the way.

Overall, try to enjoy the anime instead of complaining here and there. The problem with people nowadays is that they shit on everything and fail to see the good in every anime. Animes are meant to be enjoyed! And for me who is a fanatic of adventures and intense action, this one does it.
