"If you have the courage to die, have the courage to live."
Welcome to the NHK!, was among the most compelling anime that I have watched. While the show has dark psychological themes ranging from dysfunctional romance to suicide, there is an element of comedy and amusement that balances these elements well.
Story (10/10):
The story is nothing short of phenomenal. It reflects largely upon how life is not perfect and the relationships between people are similarly imperfect, yet people still struggle on. The way the anime adheres to more realistic ideas regarding romance and adapts them to the characters is very intriguing and engaging. Far from the usual cliche anime relationships, the main relationship is both thought-provoking and well developed. The dark themes and drama juxtaposed with lighter moments is especially well done.
Art (9/10):
Art was fairly decent and reflected the story well. While it was not the best artwork in the world, it felt appropriate and fit well with the story especially in more dramatic scenes.
Sound (9/10):
Overall enjoyable soundtrack in regards to music. The voice acting was done well and accurately represented the characters.
Characters (10/10):
Characters were perhaps the best aspect of the anime. Each of them had a story to tell. They deal with their own struggles with life and how they fall down and push forward in spite of them. They are well-developed and interesting with accurate reflection upon how humans often actually are.
Enjoyment (10/10):
It was a very enjoyable anime to watch. The drama mixed well with the humor and the plot was engaging and well developed. Overall, I would recommend this anime to anyone who enjoys anime that adhere to realistic and relevant themes, complex characters, and drama.
