Anyhow, story is pretty straight forward, read the summary and you get the just of it, well I mean there's plot twist and all that but the general premise is pretty straightforward.
Art (8) and sound (9) are, while not outstanding, well crafted and chosen, well above average actually. I don't know the ED songs, as I'm not Japanese and cannot understand the actual lyrics, but I'm going to wager a guess and say that they were from the 2000s and maybe the 90s and 80s, to reflect on the nostalgia felt by the MCs.
Characters (10) are very well defined and have immense depth to them. It's often been said that an anime's quality is defined by the quality of its support cast. And this one have a awesome crowd of support cast. That or, there's just a lot of main characters.
This might have something to do with the fact that the anime followed the plot of the manga almost to the letter. But still, well done in character development.
Enjoyment (10) and overall feel (9).. well I'm coming close my 30s myself so I can definitely relate to the general feel of this series...big time. I suppose I just haven't seen an anime like this before, I'm sure there are similar ones out there. But it's not every day you get watch an anime this relatable, despite this also being in a high school setting.
Part of the charm of this anime for me I think, is that it's just so plain - it's got no outrageous plot and battles, or overarching continental/cosmic conflict, there's little sexualization or caricatures. It's just so realistic and so sweet... so.. so sweet it's giving me tooth decay...
