Hey. I'm new to this and I generally steer away from this kind of thing because I'm often too lazy to bother but I found Kiseijuu: Sei No Kakuritsu so amazing that I've decided it would be a crying shame not to write a review!

I am terribly sorry if i do spoil it but I tried to hint at things and be as subtle about it as I can, so do forgive me if you feel i have spoiled it for you.

Story:
I wasn't expecting much or maybe I just didn't have any expectations at all, so you could say I went in free from any predisposed thoughts about the story. Being new to horror anime (not really something that floats my boat) I was actually quite disgusted and yet amazed at certain points in the plot but i believe that whether it was the mangaka or the anime produced who it, it was spectacular in this respect! I find that very few anime are able to execute an anime production without it seeming like a bombard of story after quite loosely related story after quite loosely related story. But with this anime, this was not apparent, which was wonderful! One part from a previous episode will neatly be linked with events and developments in the next few episodes. Sometimes you know when the story is being rushed and everything seems to happen so fast, however with this anime, it seemed everything flowed nicely at a good pace from one event to the next. This I applaud, I have not met many anime that can do this and I commend both the mangaka and the anime producer for how it turned out. Even the end was finished with a excellent flourish and I was genuinely sad to see it end. My only grievance was that they may have introduced one certain idea too suddenly, which is why I'ved rated the story 9/10.

Art
I am really a shoujo fan, delved in few other genres (shounen, seinen to name a few), but I really did not drool over the art. I have seen much worse, in fact, much, much, much cringeworthy worse, so it is fair and in a way it does suit the genre (it being horror).

Sound
I'm not too sure what I'm supposed to comment on about sound...it's not that it was wonderful or horrific but i'm not too experienced in the field of reviewing sound. Hmm, well, I think that the background music is very suitable for the anime, although it tended to repeat a lot at times. The seiyuus (voice actors) actually matched the characters perfectly. (I hope this is not a spoiler...)When the character went through a change, the voice changed slightly to suit the character. I found that really clever and to be honest, a bit of a relief (i did not like the previous tone of the voice).

Character
This! This was gobsmacking amazing! The character development of the main character was so good, it wasn't rushed and many other characters and events helped you point out these changed traits of the protagonist. Migi was such a character, at times i had to resist the urge to shout at him for being absurd about some things but I did get where he was coming from. There is one character though, (this is not about character development anymore, but still) that kept repeating the same phrase for so many times that I was almost convinced that she was a human with a broken recorder as her voice! There is also another that I just felt her persistence in this particular matter quite perverse and annoying, as a matter of fact, I felt quite grateful, although soon after remorseful when she got her just desserts.

Enjoyment:
Truth be told, I actually staved off watching this for a while, one reason was because of the art but another was because of the horror genre. Yes, I am not a fan of horror. (For this same reason, I have not yet finished watching Attack of Titan). My main reason, which i would say is the third reason but others would argue and say that it is an element of the second reason, is that this idea that his arm can be so morbid and gross just freaked me out. I am glad, nonetheless, that I have this anime a chance and I'm sure that you would too once you look past the grotesque idea of some weirdo thing being a part of Shinichi's arm and doing uncanny things.

Overall, it is a sublime piece of work, one that I'm sure will stay popular in the anime world for a long time and will stay as a personal favourite of mine. It is, dare i say it, on par with favourites such as Naruto and if you've heard of it, Charlotte (maybe not your fav but is mine) just judging by story alone against all four elements (story, art, sound, character) of Naruto and Charlotte. I am glad to have picked it up and given it a chance despite being in a genre quite out of my depth and I'm sure you too will enjoy it immensely if you look past the art (unless you like this art, then a plus for you) and the idea of someone's arm being this queer, bizarre thing called Migi. My promise to you is, though, that after you finish, your new best bud will be Migi!
