All right, what the hell. I just finished this anime recently, so I might as well write it up while it's fresh in my mind. Maybe this will be my new hobby. Well, if you decide to watch Diabolik Lovers, then brace yourself for the ultimate cringe.

Story: 2/10 Ugh, the story (or lack of it) is abominable. All it consists is the protagonist getting drained by each of the brothers. What else is there to say?

Art: 7/10 Admittedly, the art is one of the more positive aspects of the show. It was the main reason why I decided to watch this show. The characters each have their own unique color scheme that I really adore. And who can go wrong with pastel gradient hair? But even so, that doesn't save this monstrosity.

Sound: 6/10 I have mixed feelings about the sound. On one hand, the OP and ending songs are quite catchy. Both really fit the sadism and carnality Diabolik Lovers ramps up. The dubbed voices were overall tolerable. (Although I can't look at Asura from Soul Eater the same way again, knowing that the VA for him also voices one of the douchebag vampires.) But on the other end of the spectrum, the vampire suckling noises are downright catatonic. I'd almost rather hear nails dragged across a chalkboard.

Characters: 3/10 Let me tell you, there is absolutely no character development whatsoever. Nearly all the characters were extremely appalling. The protagonist has no personality or backbone. She's pretty much a walking bloodbank. She lets herself get sucked by each of the brothers without trying to fight back. It's pathetic. Also, nearly all the vampires have varying levels of psychopathy and sadism. (Well, there was one vampire I kind of liked, although his debut involved him punching a freaking wall.) Finally, the villains were complete bores and were absolutely unnecessary. They had barely any charisma that would've painted them as memorable.

Enjoyment: 3/10 My instincts want me to give this a 2, but I'll bump it up a point just for the one character I like, the art, and how "decent" the sound is. I guess it was a good test of my strength enduring these episodes. (On a final note, I would add that the ending was completely predictable. Typical for masochistic vampire "romances.")

Overall: 3/10 OK, I confess. Even though I read the reviews on how horrible it was on here, I had to see how terrible it was myself. And I wasn't disappointed! It's a wonder I made it through the dozen, especially since I was wincing the entirety of the premiere. Perhaps I am a masochist.

Well, I see there are some sequels to this abomination. To watch or not to watch? That is the question at hand.
