Came for the "plot" and stayed for the PLOT. This is a series that I bet a lot of people started for the excessive amount of fanservice and action. Kill la Kill has tons of that with a typical shounen revenge storyline set in a world of dictator ruled schools and super powered school uniforms.

However, as Ryuko gets closer and closer to finding her father's killer, she becomes consumed by a large scale plot for world domination. To be honest, the premise is ridiculous and the show definitely does not take itself too seriously, but the drama and suspense hooks any viewer.

If you've been an otaku for awhile than you have at least heard of Kill la Kill or seen Ryuko Matoi and her scissor blade. Kill la Kill's has a reputation for a reason, and that is because it is such an outstanding anime. A lot of the situations are very overly dramatic and the characters are very over the top, but that just adds to the suspense and enjoyment of the anime. And the music and art is very unique and fits this series really well. I think Kill la Kill is a milestone of the anime industry and I would put it on the level of shounen icons like Dragon Ball and Fullmetal Alchemist.
