Welcome to my review of the film "Summer Wars."
My English is imperfect, so expect some errors in my text.

This film was released on August 1, 2009 and was animated by Studio MadHouse, the same that animated most recently Hunter x Hunter (2011) and One Punch Man in this last season.

In short, Summer Wars tries to overcome the public's expectations with very good animation, not clichés characters and one of the only plot that may exist where the so-called "protagonist" (named Koiso) is called to a family reunion from the most popular girl in school called Kazuma Ikezawa where, starting from there happens to be her suposed boyfriend because she needs that excuse to be well regarded. But her grandmother, the person in whom Kazuma has the greatest respect, happens to discover and not only that, Koiso (the boy) ends up doing crap in the world called OZ (what society would call SAO due to be the " virtual world" nonsense).

This world is almost the same as Accel World and SAO together with a mixture of Log Horizon and any other animes on virtual worlds, OZ turns out to be the most cliché that there is in this movie and it's the only thing that I don't like in the movie because it ends by taking the essence of a Mamoru Hosoda films such as the "Digimon" movie, "Wolf Children" and also "Bakemono in Ko", films that are so well regarded by the society due to the story and the way they are told.

Don't get me wrong, OZ is a great place but when I first buy this movie I was expecting anything except - Virtual Worlds bullshit - due to the way this gender in defined in the anime industry.
OZ is unique but it's wrong in a way that people see to be happen in a "summer holidays" movie.

Studio Madhouse make without a doubt a perfect job as always, I should say that this is by far the best studio in terms of quality and imperfections in the scenes, but sometimes there is a lack of scenes that do make att to the title of the movie.
(It's my favourite Studio anyway including Ghibli too)

My overall score is 8, because it will be such a good movie but without the Virtual World "thing", just the "summer holidays" excuse and the fact that Koiso will be the boyfriend of the most popular girl to make this movie even more unique, fantastic and to give that "shoujo" piece to the cake.
