Minor spoilers ahead,maybe

Minor editing was done after I stopped hating the guts out of the last few episodes and got the picture of THAT demon, you know which one, deleted from my head.

D.Gray-man, anime who's name you are bout to mistype around five times when searching for it online. What to say about it? It's about demons and exorcists and hot teenage boys. Y'know instead of marinating my thoughts for two or three sentence summary let me go trough this step by step like a recovering paraplegic.

Art and sound! If you don't have nice art in anime nowadays you might as well just decapitate yourself, don't do that tho it hurts. Art is certainly nice, there's some in depth analysis. Art style is a nice blend of gothic elements are wankery anime of today. This is not a negative thing because it takes firm, smooth character look from modern times and mixes it with some well deserved darkness, considering the whole demon premise. Aesthetics are intriguing in many parts. Animation is used to punctuate needed moments in the anime. Sound is eh ok tho in some moments, few but still worth the mention, it's used to indulge you in the scene. The openings are so-so apart from that one opening I can't quite remember that sounded pretty neat. Arts an 8 because of all the things mentioned above. Sound is 7 but it's nearing 8 so take it as 7,5.
Story! Story is eeeehhh a bit too convoluted so I'll mention some parts that matter.
Innocence-thing that grants you weapons that can slay demons, not everybody can use it and if you abuse innocence you turn into a...thing ,honestly I can't explain what it is. So in short magical weapon thingy.
Demons- there's couple of levels of demons level 1 are lame ones level 2 are stronger ones and level 3 are super strong ones. They are obviously bad guys tho there are some additional baddies, but about that later.
Exorcists-guys that fight demons.
The story ,as mentioned, is convoluted and not that enjoyable. At times it feels stretched to it's limits. What I will mention in this section is power balances of characters. In one episode you'll see three characters fighting against a level 2 demon and having troubles with it but trough few episodes boom they are killing level 2's by dozens. Similar thing happened in few other occasions and I despised it because it was pretty nonsensical. The story isn't awful by any means and even tho I despised many parts of it a 7 is deserved because they made a world you can indulge in and frankly enjoy.

Characteeerrsssss...are shit. Trust me on this. At the beginning you are having fun and you have three leads: Protagonist, ,,strong,, female and Sasuke(emoish guy). They are later joined by some other characters but they aren't shown frequent enough, despite having more personality than our original trio. What about our trio? Well Protagonist is okay at the beginning being the kind hearted but decisive guy with some angst, I can mostly allow it in this case considering the circumstances, but he kinda stagnates the only thing that changes is how strong and decisive he is. Sure there's character development to him so I can't call him generic but it isn't anything major that I can call it interesting. The female lead is fine for about half the anime and then she becomes the bitchy, whiny, annoying, useless, dime a dozen, obstructing cunt. Sasuke is almost the same albeit some glimpse is given into his past so there's that. There's one red haired character that joins them who's pretty fun and has duality to him. He's torn between duty and friends etc etc. overall a fun character. What I should mention, and didn't before the edit, is that there are some interesting villains too. There's these Noah peeps,I shan't discuss much about what they are so let's get into individuals. There's four interesting Noah. Road Camelot, a sadistic girl with powers to turn area around her into Alice In Wonderland. Tykki Mikk, gentleman looking malicious asshole. The last two are twins Beavis and Butthead eermm I mean Jastero and Devit. They are numbskulls who are just a bit psychotic and a bit too much idiotic. I did come back to edit this part and now I gotta give this a 7 cause of some good characters. I do heavily dislike doing so because focus was on crap ones. And if you like yaoi your ovaries will be pleased by this anime

Enjoyment. Despite nice animation I didn't enjoy this much. You need something to use your wonderful animation on to amplify it and there wasn't too much of that in here.Too much time was spent on the boring main cast instead of all the fun quirky characters. Also the story doesn't move much there's a lot of dialogue that goes on my nerves, lest we forget the power levels being less solid than pudding. I did however enjoy it slightly, first review was written with bad taste from last few eps so I was a bit more of an arse there. Here's a 7 despite fight scenes being nothing special.

I regret watching this anime because even tho it gave me temporary joy it soon fleeted away under pounds of annoyance this anime contains. I might be a bit sore because of the shite ending but as there is a continuation upcoming I might change my mind tho don't expect it to go higher than 7.

To be continued in D. Gray-Man: Hallow.
