During the fall anime season I had been watching an anime that had a great soundtrack, not very good action scenes, hundreds of Cliche's and I just only enjoyed 50 percent of each episode and that anime was.........The Asterisk war.

I had than started watching a series known as The Asterisk war sucks by Digibro on youtube. Around the 12th part he introduced an anime the was extremely similar except it was good. After he summarized the first 4 episodes, I went to watch Chivalry of a failed knight.

This anime doesn't have a lot of things new, but it is highly note worthy that this anime is not a harem, which I hate most harems. The anime has a definitive relationship and likable characters. It is true that the main character Ikki's design is nothing new, which can have him labeled as like everyone else. He does have a personality and character though.

I liked all the other characters too, even if during the second story arc, Shizuku and Stella's bickering got a bit annoying. The anime also has really amazing voice acting, and it would be really hard to dub this show well, which is why I'd of liked if it was licensed by funimation and not sentai Filmworks, I'll still be picking up the blu-ray when it comes out though.

Now I would like to say that I don't care THAT much about Cliche's, as long as they're done well and I am enjoying myself. So if you're still reading this novel I'm writing, you probably have the idea that, yes, I did enjoy myself. I enjoyed a majority of what this show had to offer, except for the fanservice.

The fanservice in Chivalry of a failed knight can be very distasteful. It can be kind of funny at times and tolerable, because of plot reasons, at points. The anime didn't need some of this fanservice either, but it's there and who really cares. I can ignore the fanservice as long as that is not all we're getting. You know the answer.

The Art in the show ranges for servicable to awesome, mainly during fight scenes or one episode when it tried to do something interesting for the tone. I don't really have much to say about art style, as I usually do not notice that much about a show, I'm usually just a "this is how a show looks, so I won't complain", unless it's something like how Naruto's animation used to be really good, but as Shippuden progressed, it got worse.

I also really enjoyed the music in this show, it helped with a lot of the awesome moments in the show. I really enjoyed the opening and really kind of skipped the ending, it's not that the song was necessarily bad, but I didn't care for the imagery and it didn't really fit the shows tone.

So should you watch this show, YES! I give it full recommendations to watch. If you wish to see it, it is on Hulu. If you live in a country that doesn't have Hulu, you know that there are other less legal options. I also would like it if there was a season 2, but I am willing to wait, because you have to put time and effort in to these things and not just spit out a season 2. Thank you for reading if you are among the few willing to go through these extremely long reviews.
