At first it seemed plain since most of them acted like some of those I have known in my life. However as you get deeper into the story, you find likable traits about them through the little aspects of the episodes. One of the characters a heavy smoker who cannot abstain from cigarettes not even for a day is continuously reliving her past and cannot move forward with her life even though she is more than capable. The male protagonist is extremely determined to get his own spaceship despite his meager salary and is constantly forseeing his predecessor's suffer after years in space. Despite his brash attitude and low position in his job, you find him quite reliable at times and extremely willing to protect those he cherish.
The opening has a heavenly feel, in which felt like it told me dreams are infinite and you are not stopped from climbing harder. There is a bit of the aspect on poverty and how people from various cultures strive to overcome it. There is a bit of romance involved, which I simply adored since the anime portrays very well how characters simply love each other not for the appearances, but who they are as people. Overall a very underrated anime, I would recommend anyone to watch it if they are looking for something different.
