Before you start reading this review, I'd just like to point out that I tend not to score shows based on how high-quality they are. If I enjoy something, I'll give it a high score, regardless of whether it was technically outstanding or not.

Anyway, here we go!

Story:
Konosuba is essentially your typical 'trapped in a fantasy world' story, but instead of focusing on an intense struggle to escape this world and get back to reality, Konosuba is all about the light-hearted exchanges between Kazuma and his three companions, with a couple of side characters here and there. While every episode does have some kind of goal or plot to it and there is a main goal for Kazuma, this show isn't exactly story-driven. Instead, it focuses more on bringing you a good laugh with some brilliant characters.

7/10

Art:
The art in Konosuba certainly isn't of the highest quality. In particular episodes, you could even go as far as to call the animation bad. However, I personally feel that the rather clumsy nature in a lot of the art adds to this show's charm. The characters are all clumsy and stupid, and the animation and art portrays them in this kind of way. The world and cast are also very colourful and lively, immersing you more in the world the show takes place in. Despite it's low-quality nature, I just can't help but like the art in Konosuba.

Sound:
The soundtrack of this show is certainly nice to listen to. It doesn't exactly stand out anywhere, but it's not dreadful either. The OP song, performed by Machico, is really catchy and upbeat, while the more relaxed ED song, performed by the lead female voice actors, is a pleasant end to every episode. I usually do love it when voice actors sing for the show, and it's great here.

6/10

Characters:
One of Konosuba's main strengths is its hilarious cast. Kazuma, the main character of the show, is a rather scummy guy, but he still contributes well to the show, and doesn't feel like a typical useless main guy as is common in this type of show.

The girls that accompany Kazuma are equally great. You have the selfish and petty goddess, Aqua, the childish wizard, Megumin, and the valiant yet masochistic knight, Darkness. The characters are all really hilarious, and each get their fair share of screentime and jokes. The voice actors also put in a really good job for every single character, particularly Megumin and Kazuma, in my opinion.

10/10

Overall:
Konosuba is a brilliant comedy show that stands out among other similar shows. It nails the comedy aspect just right, and the characters and the world they live in are vivid and well-designed. I can't wait for the season 2!
