While I didn't understand what the anime was trying to tell me throughout most of the episodes, I found it very enjoyable since it showed characters of set team trying to track down abnormalities in the system.
Yes the character has certain appeal such as Major Kusanagi having a very fine body and all, but one should realized that she is one of the strong types of female characters which I did not experience in most of the anime that I have watched.
In terms of animation, I thought it was really well done at the time, not the mention its amazing opening that is not in three languages(i might be wrong about the number) and none of them are Japanese. It will give a different feel, but it is definitely recommended for all audiences.
