Preliminary (10/11 eps)
Zankyou no Terror or Terror in Resonance is one of those shows that take a 180 degree turn for better or worse.
This show touched on an interesting and a bit sensitive issue, which is about terrorism.
Oh, but this show isn't really centered about real terrorists. Hence, my interest to watch this series was piqued as it has a promising premise.

At first, I was really hooked on the first episode and I can't wait to see what happens next.
However, at some point in the show, the story really went downhill particularly when Five was introduced.
The story then started going in an entirely different direction, and I didn't really like the ending.
It's because the ending felt kind of rushed and there weren't enough closure.
Some things were also illogical such as a bombing where no one was hurt, having a super-intelligent daughter that knows everything about explosives or a cute girl with absolute authority that likes to play hide-and-seek with lives at stake...
I was also bothered with the MC's saying that they "don't have much time left" and this anime didn't really bother to explain properly.

I can't complain about the art.The art is absolutely gorgeous! The buildings, debris, the sceneries all seemed realistic and pretty. The colors are muted and it's not a colorful show, but it suits the mood of this show very well.
Although the character designs are a bit normal, it still looked beautiful. Oh, and the explosions...It was very smooth and cool, and "pretty"...Heck, even the song sequence, particularly for the OP is awesome.
Well, this show IS directed by the famous and capable Shinichiro Watanabe, so in the visuals department I have no complaints.

Well, for the sound, the OP and ED are spot-on! It gives off a mysterious vibe that is befitting for a show like this. The tracks used are also appropriate for the event that was happening.

I think that some of the characters ruined this show a little. Wait, the character development is also lacking. Hm...I think that the character development in this show, or the lack of it makes me give this show low scores for character.
First, the background of Nine and Twelve were just brief flashbacks, and their past were supposed to be dark and deeply haunting. But, with only those occasional flashbacks, I can't really empathize with them.
The same goes for Five, who could be a more interesting character, if only given a more detailed background. The heroines in an anime are usually loved right? But in this case, I was annoyed by the female MC whose name I didn't bother memorizing.
Yeah, well, I know that she's just an ordinary bully victim, but she really likes to mess things up, and watching her incompetence really ticks me off.
She's burdening Twelve and Nine, cause she couldn't do anything properly. However, she's not all bad, there was that one time when she managed to pull it off...barely.

Despite my complaints, I found that I enjoyed watching this show after I overlooked the annoying female MC's incompetence. The action sequence and the art and sound makes up for what the show lacks, and it is a worthwhile watch. I recommend those who love good graphics, psychological and mystery anime to watch this show.
