Preliminary (20/22 eps)
Let me start off by saying that I absolutely loved it, although it has a sad story with lots of drama, which is something I usualy dislike. so let's see why I loved it.

The Story is very good, it holds you to the anime, it is mostly about the romance but it has some drama too. Some people say it is too dramatic, but I think its in the right point. There are some moments when the anime loses the focus and forgets about the story, but those moments are not so frequent and therefore it doesn't get anoying or anything. One of the points in the story that I dislike is that it has too much monologues and flashbacks, which could be avoided, for exemple, a scene that should have 10 minutes goes up to 20 minutes, it might not be so anoying if you like these things but for me it was kinda boring at times.

The art and sound were way better than I expected, the art is really fluid and beautiful, it has lots of colors and its really expressive, the dramatic and sad scenes are shady and dark, while the happy and meaningful scenes are usually very bright and colorful. The musics that are played by the characters are really amazing, and the soundtrack has some musics that are ok, some that are very good, and some amazing ones (the second ending is superb).

The characters, there are some extremely good, and there are some that are just mediocre, but one thing that I love about them, is that they are not the tipical anime charaters you would expect, they are not those cliché characters you see in every anime, instead, they have really great and realistic personalities, well, at least some of they do. Kousei is very intelligent, he is not that talkative, but isn't shy or antisocial either he is one of the best when it comes to piano, but since his mother died he doesn't want to play it anymore. Kaori in the other hand, is very social and talkative, she is very beautiful and plays violin extremely well, and while at first glance she seems very irritant and stupid, she is (at least in my opinion) the character with more depth and realism. Tsubaki is kinda cliché, she is the childhood friend that likes the main protagonist but doesn't wanna admit it, and gets all embarrassed when someone says it. Ryouta just wants to be famous and is very womenizer, he doesn't have so much depth and doesn't appear that much, I have no idea why he is considered a main character.

I really enjoyed this show, and if you like drama and romance you should like it too since those two are done really well. If you don't like excessive drama, this show might not be for you, but I recommend that you at least try it.

Overall I think it deserves between a 8.5 and a 9.6, so im giving it a 9 here.
