Mixed Feelings
This review is spoiler free and goes without saying that this is just my opinion.

Story:
The main part of the story as referenced in the title is Chuunibyou (eighth grader syndrome) - basically it is where the sufferer acts immature and doesn't grow out of it between the transition of junior high/middle school and high school. It's an interesting take on the idea of growing up, though it is used as a silly behavior until later on in the show where you understand why the behavior was adopted. This show is only 12 episodes long and it takes roughly half of the show to get into any sort of plot; I was struggling to not drop it until it finally picked up, though to me it barely surpassed the level of watchable. To go into any more detail would likely result in spoilers, but there are far too many episodes wasted on "quirky randomness" instead of making you interested in the story.

Art:
KyoAni did this show, so the art is high quality as usual. There's not really anything to say about art no matter what show you're talking about; it's just plain good and that's about where the discussion ends.

Sound:
It's always hard to recall background music unless it's a long running series or one you've seen multiple times, so I hardly noticed that this show had BGM, though it being present, absent, good, or bad is basically a moot point because most of the time I don't notice it. The opening and ending themes were pretty good and I never skipped them, so that's a plus.

Character:
Togashi was a likeable character who had a logical basis for his actions, which is a good thing because too many shows have characters I want to slap for being so annoying. There are clips shown of him from the previous year acting out his own Chuunibyou, which are quite hysterical. Other than that, the other characters are largely lacking. The show is so short that there isn't enough time to establish anyone other than the main 2 or 3 characters, so it's almost as if adding the other characters was pointless. There are a few girls who engage in their Chuunibyou in the form of having epic battles in their minds with Naruto-like attacks, when in reality they are just rolling around on the floor. So much god damn time was spent having these pointless fights which again aren't actually happening that it was annoying as shit. Also something I hate unless it's a shonen fight scene is randomly saying English words for no reason. It's not funny or cool or whatever they're going for, it's just annoying. "Banishment....this world!" - shut up already.

Enjoyment:
In terms of enjoyment, I will say it's watchable, but the first 5 or so episodes are a bitter pill at least to me. There is no reason for a 12 episode show to waste so much time on essentially nothingness.

Overall:
This show is likely better to watch if you are able to easily marathon an entire show in one day, but if you're like me and usually space out even short shows over a week, it will feel like a challenge to watch because there's not much to look forward to. I really don't get why this show is so praised.
