I’m quite surprised that the anime is given low rating but so many because I assumed it would be well received by many. However, each to their own.

Boku dake ga Inai Machi, also known as Erased, was a perfect blend of everything I seek in an anime. It scored perfectly on animation, music, character development and plot. I won’t dwell too much on the plot since it might lead to a spoiler but the story was unique and well-constructed. The transition of the anime was well-paced, not too slow or too fast and I think it’s because the team made a great decision to keep it short to 12 episodes only. I’m sure it would have been a drag if it was stretched to 20+ episodes so kudos to whoever decided on that.
The key to the anime’s success was because of the emotional attachment to the characters. Every character (good or bad) were unique and diverse in their own way. They felt real and I wanted to do everything to protect them (not the bad guy though). In addition, they also raised awareness about issues like domestic violence at home, single moms raising kids and even bullying at school.
The anime was greatly hyped out about and I was wary to watch it because I was afraid I’ll be disappointed but I was not let down even for a minute. It started and ended perfectly.
