Chaos Dragon redefines the word "underrated". If you don't know what I'm talking about, try pondering on it.
DEEN makes a bad adaptation of Fate/Stay Night and no one bats an eye... Silver Link. and Connect make one of the best mobile game adaptation and everyone loses their minds.
What sets me off about people is that they constantly complain about this show only because they compare it to some other anime and blame it for not exceeding their expectations only because " ITZ GEN UROBUCHEE AND KINOKO NASU LULZ LULZ".

Is this a Fate/Stay Night anime? Does it have any similarities to be likened to it? Just because it has the same authors and the animations looks very close to Ufotable, doesn't just mean this show must be always rated so lowly because of it.

But let's go on with my opinion:

Story: 7
First off, I must say the plot is very simple, it doesn't require a high IQ, and it isn't meaningless unlike some people pointed out, it has plenty of unexpected plot twists, at times meaningless deaths, but nothing special, this indeed isn't the strongest point, but don't be discouraged.

Character: 10
I've witnessed many complaints about how people seem to dislike the characters, particularly the main character. The main character isn't your typical cliched hero, he's just a regular child, and he has to deal with sacrificing his friends and family, his reactions are very natural, what would you do if your most precious people died by your own hands? Ibuki is very emotional, and through his losses he grows up, along with the other characters. Though some characters aren't developed enough since the show ended too soon, the cast is counts many very unique characters because multiple authors worked on it, particularly Kinoko Nasu (the author of Fate/Stay Night, Tsukihime and other Type-Moon works), Gen Urobuchi (Fate/Zero, Madoka Magica), and the director of Durarara and Baccano.

Art: 10
The animation is literally flawless, the opening is perfect, and I might even say it's the best animation I have ever seen, next to Ufotable, it is safe to assume they did put their utmost efforts in the animation.

Sound: 8
I don't recall any soundtrack that caught my attention, however I love the opening song which I just couldn't skip, as I enjoyed the ending too, I thought those were more than enough to pump me up.

Enjoyment: 9
Due to the very unique cast of characters, this show kept me entertained from the beginning to the end, unlike other reviewers say, I didn't find it boring, but with the ending, which left some space, I was rather starving for a second season, I believe this show truly deserves it.

Overall: 9
When you watch this show, remember that it was adapted from a mobile game, I hope you know how hard that can be, most of the video games adaptions are often hideous and unwatchable. However Chaos Dragon is the best game adaptation I have ever watched. The fanservice isn't annoying or noticeable at all, there's action, beautiful animation and character development, what more are you asking for? This show is a rare gem that needs more attention, I definitely wish it lasted longer, or it had a second season, in that case I wouldn't hesitate to call it a masterpiece.

Put it simply, if you like action and want to try something different with an actual character development and amazing animation work, you'll love this show.
