I'll keep this review short...
I never hated jazz, but I was never a fan. This series awoke some hidden joy in me.
Sakamichi no Apollon doesn't have THE BEST JAZZ EVER, but the music in this series is a gift to us all.
The story is also compelling. The pacing is really well done and over all the series manages to be both suspenseful and relaxing (I kid you not).
If you watch this series through, you are in for quite the ride!
I'm trying to think of what I hated about this story, but most of the complaints I had when I started it were gone when I reached the end.
Bitter sweet and precious, "Kids on the Slope" does a good job on telling a story that not only tugs on the heart strings, but also seems realistic.
