Plot: The plot is very unique. It revolves around tastes of food, cuisines, cooking, etc. It draws in your attention quite early on. It has a perfect balance between seriousness and comedy. Howeverr, it does get kind of repetitive at times. Through the course of this Anime, we follow highschool student Yukihira Soma who joins an elite culinary school. He challenges and works through several competitions and tests through his journey to the top. The plot also involves various cultures from around the world. We get quite detailed info. on French, Italian, Japanese, Indian, Chinese, etc. cuisines and are introduced to various ingredients we've never heard of. The reactions to the food are heavily exaggerated in a good way. (8/10)
Art: The art and animation are absolutely stunning. The dishes look delicious and every time a new dish is shown, I ended up drooling. (10/10)
Sound: The soundtrack has a wide variety. It fits in perfectly with the scene and dish being presented at the moment. Japanese dishes have a Japanese soundtrack, Indian dishes have an Indian soundtrack, etc. (10/10)
Characters: There are several important characters and most have them have very interesting and unique personalities. The protagonist himself is very entertaining, confident, and immersive. However, certain characters weren't to my liking. Such as Megumi, the lead female character.
Enjoyment: I was never bored while watching this anime and the comedy keeps you entertained for very long. The also input some facts regarding tastes, spices, flavors and their combinations.
Overall, I would recommend this anime to someone who is looking for something fresh and unique. However, I warn you, the fan service is quite high in this one though it doesn't ruin the experience.
