After having some time to process I got to say that this anime really sticks with you. I constantly kept thinking about it. I was listening to the OP song and found a burning sensation to cry.
Right off the bat I loved this anime. Its one of those bookmarked anime, that you tell your friends about to keep the fire that it started alive. You don't want to forget it. I would do anything to experience watching it for the first time again.
The story was amazing. I definitely saw numerous types of similar aspects of plot lines in other media. But the execution and pace was the flag that made it one of the greats. Straight away I thought they could have made this into a movie and that thought enhances with noticing the high level of production that went into this anime. And am so glad they didn't even in 1 cour I don't think they put in as much as they should have. That being said the ending did have some pacing Issues but the the rest. Holy damn the rest.
This first 6-8 Eps of this was pure grace. I went into this anime knowing nothing and whoa was I blown away. Following the main character I was so invested into the story such as rooting for an underdog in a big fight. Yes he was special and know things that others don't but that didn't mean he didn't have disadvantages. What it comes down to is a kid trying to save his friend, whatever the cost.
I forgot to mention that as much as this anime gives you the feels it is pretty damn funny especially given his situation. The MC has a tendency to blurt out what he is thinking (Hopefully not a spoiler) and producing some funny moments.
In summary this is an amazing anime which you should check out which is very pleasing to the eyes but if you want 100% pure awesome story as I've heard that the manga is the way to go. Which I'll also probably check out in the next few years, when this anime isn't so fresh in my mind.
E.N. I wrote another review before following the guidelines of story, art, sound etc but that just seemed to robotic and hopefully I conveyed a perception of the anime in this review even more so.
