First of all: if you're looking for some action, godly powers, boobs and something quick, this anime is not for you. But if you're someone who wants a decent story, captivating characters, real drama/problems and, well, feel something, sit down, this is just for you.
Let me be quick with the overall stuff: the lines are simple and clean (what really works for keep the focus in the story and remains beautiful), the background works really well, you will really feel yourself inside the plot. The seyuus ARE AMAZING! The voices are really catchy, and again, you will really feel at home. The sound it's not bad, but there's no focus on it and you won't remember much thing. Ok that's it.
So there's this guy, ordinary life and stuff, and he has this thing, THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT. But don't get cocky, he don't control it and works really random. While his mother is visiting him, things happen, memories come back and everything goes out of control. I will really avoid spoilers.
The entire plot is in his past, all you need to know is that there is/was a killer, and with his memories back, some regrets come together, even now as a child. And that's the thing. The anime works with children and it really makes wonders (I'm not a big fan of these little noisy bastards in real life, so it was really a surprise). There's a lot of innocence and simplicity in everything here, if you have a heart, you sure will connect really easy.
There's a human will here trying saving people, no external pressure and not absurd actions. Just it, a kid trying make things better, just because he (now) knows he can, even if it's just a shot in the dark. There's some real drama beside the killer, actually these sad events are what makes you get glued to ERASED (yeah, using the translated name cause it's quicker). The adults are not left behind and make the plot grow just as the kids, this journey it's not a "go and get it", there are failures, lies and the present world. But you won't get lost at all.
It's a pure anime, with a touching story and character development, get ready to feel a lot of things: fear, sadness, anger, agony, happiness and love. I'm not kidding, you will feel it all and in waves, if you don't end up dead, you'll know what I'm talking about. It worth it. In the end of some episodes you'll find yourself thinking about your entire life, childhood friends and feel... Whatever has happened to you til now. It's a personal anime and will move you. That's all. My high note on this one it's exactly about what I've been talking about all this time: it will make you feel things, real things, this anime it's no so far from reality so you can connect to it. I really hope you enjoy ERASED as much as I did. It's not shallow in any point and have its defects (trust me, they're just little details [if you have an eagle eye]) but will guarante you a great time (and cry).

P.S.: if you don't burst in tears or feel anything in the breakfast scene YOU ARE NOT A HUMAN BEING!
