I do agree that the development of this Anime is pretty slow in itself, more like it would be the opposite of other similar Virtual Reality Type of anime in which the story progression would be rather fast let's say Sword Art Online. I said VRT, because at first it gives you a sense that it would be similar to SAO, Log Horizon, No Game No Life, you name it. However, I am not sure if that is the case given that, it is still unknown in the Anime on how they got there, but it's really a type of Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) - I think.

It doesn't mean however that, the said slow development of Anime is a flaw. Somehow, it gives you a sense of uniqueness or perhaps attachment to reality in a way that it's similar to a diary. Yes, I think that would be the best representation of this Anime, a diary of a certain character.

It has a lot of conversations between characters, more like 80% of the Anime would actually be dialogues between the different characters. Again, I don't think this is a flaw, knowing that somehow this Anime made me stick for the rest of the winter season. However, I find it funny that they would still be in area where goblin or kobolds live, given that in actual games, these monsters would be the lowest in the hierarchy. Maybe, the author is trying to convey a sense of reality, that it would be easy as how when we play a game, where there are resets, or other games which has over-powered characters - spamming of skills and potions and the like. It's like you're playing DIABLO (a game) on Hardcore mode and you're just a slime. Do you get what I am implying? :D haha

I would recommend this anime, for people who are trying to seek something new out of VR Animes, I am also looking forward for a Season 2, I don't read manga, so I am still not aware if there is one. This is an exciting but not so exciting Anime, I tell you, you just don't know what to feel :) Though, I think if you want something more like a satisfying ending and the like, I think this wouldn't fit :)
