Hai to Gensou no Grimgar follows a group of amnesiac adventurers trying to get by in the new world they woke up in. Though not everything goes smoothly as each member try to cover each others weaknesses. as no one really steps up as a overpowered protagonist! Slowly but surely they take atleast take one step forward emotionally if not physically!

What I kinda know?:
I went into watching the anime armed with the knowledge of the novel. Actually only to a certain point. I stopped reading the novel around the point where a certain somebody wanted to leave the so called party! Hell I even read the manga to a certain point.

ART:
Okay so that aside, when reading the manga I never felt like they wanted to show off the amazing artwork that went into the anime production. What I found crazy strange was that throughout the story especially early on they plastered the anime with.. ART? Which is nothing wrong in my opinion, the setting/ BG art is stunning. If you really like eye candy and im not talking about pantsu, you'll get a lot of it here!

SOUND:
The music you'll most likely run into early on is acoustic guitar.. A Lot of acoustic guitar. Here and there depending on the situation I feel it fits nicely. Some music make me laugh, like some bgm of some dude beat boxing when executed with a lot of light hearted funny scenes. There's also The acoustic guitar sound track as well which is crazy chill, and give off a sense of peace and really tickles my fancy.

STORY:
Hmm story is GOOD! No really its decent! in the novel that is. There's a lot of things the anime kinda missed out on. Most of what the story could be went towards leisurely walk around town scenes. Which I felt could have been done more moderately, and not 5-10 min of it every episode! Though to be honest I really don't have too much credibility to judge. Because I do not know how far the novel is. So people complaining about the slow pace gotta understand. If there's not enough source material you cant make a BANGING 12 episode anime. You gotta stretch it to a good point for a break in the novel, or a good conclusion if the anime doesn't get enough support for another season! So overall I say it's fair, and especially it starts to kinda of pick up half way through.

CHARACTER:
If you ask me personally what kinda characters I like. I Love powerful characters or at least character with potential. These characters kinda provoke a "God DAMN are these guys going to be okay?!" feeling.

THE MAIN CHARACTERS mostly being the priest and the thief. Are probably the two more complicated characters compared to the others. The priest "Manato" a struggling leader who to me seems to be bearing alot of weight. The thief"Haruhiro" a curious and friendly guy, who later in the anime develop into a more rising leader similar to Manato. Sadly these characters don't really provoke any emotions that are strong enough to make me sympathize for them to a certain degree. Though I give them credit for doing their job at least and moving the story along LOL. So uhh.. Fair enough.

THE OTHER MAIN CHARACTERS like Yume and Shihoru the two female DPS of the group are how should I say basic? Yume is more of a nice and jokey kinda girl. While Shihoru is more of a docile big chested in love with a mc kinda girl. Do we really need to elaborate anymore? As for The other two males besides the two main males, there is Ranta and Moguzo. Basically Ranta a Tsundere.. in his own way. While Moguzo is a big fluffy tank which I appreciate because tanks nowadays are aggressive and loud! So go you Moguzo for breaking a META!

ENJOYMENT:
For me I enjoyed it as mostly what stuck out for me was the incredible art work that went into the production. There is practically no CGI except some parts when they stretch the Background all awkwardly. An example is when the background stretches because the characters happen to be moving closer to it? It's really hard to explain I'm sorry! But really though it can't carry itself on art alone! it would have been a 5 for enjoyment if the other half of the anime didn't start to pick up!

Overall? Its GOOD! Not abysmal. but it could work close to trying for perfection!
