This is my review of the first season of the show and while there where delays and production issues I wont let that effect my scoring of the show as that wont apply to people who will watch the show in one sitting. When I started watching god eater I was expecting something different to Ufotables usual fate stay night type work which is all about stories where people are betraying or crossing one another in beautiful animation filled fights. I knew what God eater was before watching the show and it has met and gone over my expectations which would have been a eight originally.

Story 9/10

The story in the first half is basic where it involves introducing some characters and world building. The story in general is basically moments of dialogue at home base between character with fights against monsters in between. The later half of the story is really good and and was able to make the pacing good for 13 episode series even with the flashbacks for the characters. My favorite episode apart from the final where the one that gave character development to Soma and the episode focused on Lenka the MC which was what I believe should have been the first episode of the series which is why I am giving it a 9 instead of 10. The story also has a combination of dark and epic moments that make you say WTF or Holy S&%t

Art 10/10

As expected of Ufotable they produce a series with a very good looking art style. The animation is mostly smooth and character and weapon designs are very detailed and shiny. The animation in the fight scenes are pretty good and dynamic. effects like fire, rain, blood are done nicely however electricity effects in the scenes they were used seem slightly overused and take away from everything else. The monsters in the series where mainly 3d CGI by the look of them but it wasn't bad CGI and didn't ruin what you where watching.

Sound 10/10

This was what I loved the most about the series considering I am going to buy GhostOracleDrive album and listen to it in college. The music that was used always seemed to fit the moment it was used. I usually watch a fight scene remembering the music as a few bangs and a small bit of dubstep however in this series I would mostly remember the epic song playing in the background. The music is also not only effectively used during fights it is effectively used during character dialogue.

Character 8/10

The first squad characters are pretty well developed and sort of likable in the series as a whole but half of them at first can be very childish however to avoid spoilers I am not going to say who. The MC Lenka seems like the best character to get development in series. He is not a character in the god eater video games which the series is based off of as the games get you to create a main character to begin with. At first he seems like a blank slate as a character where he has nothing really interesting about him other then his need to kill aragami. Later on he does end up becoming my favorite character in the series after getting some decent development. My other favorite character in the series was Soma for similar reasons.

Enjoyment 10/10

despite delays I really enjoyed every episode of this series mainly due to the pacing which wasn't too slow or too fast while keeping things entertaining. I would recommend this show as one you do watch in one sitting.
